The Spirituality of Lift Up Your Eyes
No matter our situation, be it financial calamity or hardships, emotional pain, sickness or marital challenges strike, wanting to overwhelm us and make us lose heart, lift your eyes up whence comes your helps.
Many a times when affliction comes and tries take hold of us, we get our mind so fixated on the affliction that we don’t remember to look to the promise. For example, when we are stuck due to some challenges, it’s not actually the problems that holds us down but just the fact that we are satisfied with where we are. If you are not satisfied, then lift up your eyes.
When Abram had issues with his cousin, Lot, God didn’t want Abram to settle down and give up there. God had more for Abram. He had plans for him. Abram’s journey was just beginning and as such told Abram to lift up his eyes. This year, God is saying don’t be satisfied with that situation, your journey is still far; lift up your eye to see what He has in stock for you.
